I<\/span>n recent years, European farmers have faced multiple challenges: from the Russian embargo and the need to find new markets to price volatility and the complexity of compliance with the Common Agricultural Policy.<\/p>\n

The consultation on agricultural policy after 2020 has already begun and the European Commission\u2019s proposal, tabled in December 2017, makes it clear that Member States want \u201cmore space\u201d to shape the policies they want and especially fit their particular circumstances .<\/p>\n

At the same time, the debate also focuses on the need to accelerate innovation and the introduction of new technologies in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

The so-called \u201cprecision farming\u201d is considered by many to be the solution of the future as it will make a significant contribution in tackling climate change and reducing the environmental impact of agriculture.<\/p>\n

However, issues such as large data, accessibility and affordability of these new technologies and its place in the new CAP remain open.<\/p>\n

In this event we will explore the Greek priorities, the problems and the proposals of the Greek farmers.<\/p>\n
